Using Smartphone After Crash

Apps entertain and inform, in some cases they even protect. Such thinking enticed designers to craft an app for those chaotic minutes following a car crash.
“Usually when in an accident you can’t think clearly enough. A good app will either guide you through the steps to take, or get you in touch with someone else who could act for you,” said Anibal Madrid, founder of the SOSmart app.
Below, Madrid suggests what people should look for when downloading a post-collision app:
- Location, location, location: Apps capable of determining where you are provide substantial benefit, especially if you’re unconscious or the phone is out of reach.
- No solicitors: Avoid apps that show advertisements. You don’t want need to see a commercial when you need help, right?
- Keep it simple: The less work a user is required to do, the better. The app should automatically update and stay on when the phone is. Installing the app should give you and your loved ones peace of mind.
- Panic button: Consider an app that can slyly notify pre-selected authorities and contacts with the push of a button.
