2015 RAV4 Builds on Two Decades of Engineering Excellence
The 2015 Toyota RAV4 marks 20 years for the iconic vehicle, and the newest model stays true to its roots by delivering great value with advanced technological features, cargo space and safety.
Under the Hood
Toyota’s 2015 RAV4 is powered by a 2.5-liter direct-injection four-cylinder engine that delivers 176 horsepower and 172 pound-feet of torque. That all comes with an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 24 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. In all-wheel-drive models, the fuel economy is 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway.
The engine is mated to a standard six-speed automatic transmission. In sport mode, the vehicle sharpens shift timing, throttle response and steering feel.
Comfort and Convenience
Drivers are comfortable in an eight-way power-adjustable seat with lumbar adjustment, and both front seats are heated. Smart Key with push-button start and a power lift gate make getting in and out a breeze, even with full hands.
Four different Entune infotainment systems are available in the 2015 RAV4. The standard system has a 6.1-inch touchscreen, AM/FM/CD playback, Bluetooth connectivity, an auxiliary jack and a USB port and syncs with iPods, smartphones and other mobile electronic devices. Other models fall between the standard and the top level Entune setup, which has premium JBL Audio with a navigation system, an eight-channel amplifier and 11 GreenEdge speakers, including a subwoofer.
Safety
Eight standard airbags protect vehicle occupants in the event of a collision, and the front seats feature whiplash injury lessening. Other standard safety controls include traction control, enhanced vehicle stability control, brake assist, electronic brake-force distribution and smart stop technology.
Optional safety features include blind spot monitor, rear cross traffic alert and lane departure warning. Vehicles equipped with all-wheel drive deliver superior handling and traction, especially on slippery or slick road surfaces.
